Armour & Helmets

Armour comes in Tarkov's classes, II through VI, priced and protected the way Tarkov does it. The stamina weight penalty is switched off across the whole server, so a full loadout — plates, helmet, rig, two guns — is wearable rather than a mobility tax.

The price tells you the class#

Vests, helmets and backpacks are priced in bands that never overlap, so a price tells you the protection class:

Where a piece sits inside its band follows Tarkov. Ragman sells the clothing, rigs, helmets and packs; the top tiers need reputation. Reputation.

Where the hits go#

Hit zones are Tarkov's: your vest protects your limbs as well as your chest. Wearing a plate carrier changes what an arm or a leg shot does to you, not just the torso.

Bullets versus blackouts#

Two separate things happen when you're hit. Damage is what the class stops. Shock is what knocks you out, and it is handled differently:

A vest cuts the shock of a body hit to almost nothing — nobody gets knocked out through a plate.
The head takes several times the shock of the body. The helmet is the anti-concussion item.
Cheap, low-penetration rounds carry the most shock; armour-piercing rounds the least. The round that can't get through your plate is the one most likely to put you down if it finds your head.
Stims — Propital, Adrenaline, Morphine, Trimadol, Vaseline, L1, Gold Star — make you immune to blacking out while they last.

Medical and getting knocked out has the whole model; Ammunition has the other half of it, and Shots to Kill turns both into a number for every round against every class.

What isn't armour#

Masks, caps and clothing that stop no bullets stop no shock either. If an item's price puts it below the class II band, it is clothing.
